Vedic Mathematics is the name given to the ancient system of Mathematics which was rediscovered from the Vedas between 1911 and 1918 by Sri Bharati Krsna Tirthaji (1884-1960). According to his research all of mathematics is based on sixteen Sutras or word-formulae.
Vedic Math Level 1
In this class students learned about 5 sutras and few sub-sutras. Goal of this class is for the students to mentally add & subtract at least 2 and 3 digit numbers and multiply 2 digit numbers. This class will also cover adding, subtracting and multiplying numbers close to a base – along with introducing the principal of division as a function of reversing multiplication.
Vedic Math Level 2
The goal of the class is to introduce the math subject with different angels and come to the same conclusion with speed and precision. We compare it with the core-curriculum as students at this age question the usefulness and importance of the system which could also help with the AMC exams or any other competitive exams. The students pick up at a faster pace after they are very well prepared at level 1. Students learn all depth and breadth of Multiplication, Squares, Square-root, Division, pre-Algebra and some trigonometry depending upon the age and ability of the group.
